Patrick Riddick

(electric~acoustic guitar)

Patrick Riddick learned to play guitar at the age of 13 while growing up in Washington, NC. After graduating from High School, Patrick left Eastern NC to attend Elon College just outside of Burlington, NC. Although he received his degree in Corporate Communications and Business, his passion for music intensified during his college years. In 1994 the band Dakkota was formed and 5 college buddies hit the road to make their mark on the budding Country Music scene. Dakkota has been in existance now for more than 20 years and during the height of the bands career the guys played more than 180 shows a year, had a development deal with Arista Records, and recorded 5 independant albums.

As the glamour of "road life" wore off, the guys began to get married and slowed the touring schedule. It was at this point that Patrick began his career in business, working for Dealers Supply Company in Mebane, NC. DSC is a Durham, NC based wholesale distributor of fine flooring products. Patrick recognized the opportunity with the company to relocate back to Eastern NC which is where he wanted to raise his kids along with his wife, Dana.

Upon returning to the coast the family settled in New Bern, NC.  While Patrick continues to gig as an Acoustic Duo (with partner Joe Beckham) and perform with Dakkota, he has also expanded his passion for music into the Contemporary Service at Centenary United Methodist Church.  He accepted a leadership role in 2011 as an Associate Director of Music.  "Music has saved me many times and I am just so honored to be able to share my talents with the students who come to Fullers."
