Chris Morden has been teaching and performing music professionally since 1995, touring the country with various jazz, rock, theater and classical groups, including opening for national and international acts, and several recording projects. A multi-instrumentalist, Chris holds an Associates degree in Music from Motts Community College and studied applied bass at Michigan State University.  Chris plays bass and sings with the regional variety cover band Spare Change. He also plays bass with multiple jazz and theater groups and lends his many musical talents to his church in New Bern where he lives.

Chris welcomes students of all ages and abilities on any of the many instruments that he is well qualified to teach. He is experienced in many genres and styles of music, including jazz, rock, country, Christian, blues, classical and bluegrass. While learning music basics such as chord and note reading Chris’ students are encouraged to explore music that interests them and to have fun learning a lifelong skill.
