ANN COURTNEY

(flute~clarinet)

 

Ann started playing flute at age of 10 and played in several performing groups throughout Middle and High School.  Ann sat Principle Flute for the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Scandinavian Tour in Summer of 1979. 

Later Ann attended Michigan State University and earned a BA in Music Education on Flute with an emphasis on  Clarinet.   She continued studies toward an MA in Musicology with an emphasis on Medieval and Renaissance music. 

Ann has been teaching privately for 20 years and started teaching through Fuller's Music shortly after relocating to New Bern in 2005.  She currently plays in The Craven Consort, an early music ensemble, as well as The Harmonium Players--a special occasion ensemble.

Ann and her husband Chuck decided to settle in New Bern on their way back north after a year in the Caribbean on their sailboat.
