BETH COX

(clarinet~woodwinds)

Beth Cox has taught music professionally since 2008 and currently teaches General Music and Orchestra at James W. Smith Elementary School.  She is also the woodwind instructor for the West Craven High School Marching Eagles.  Beth holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she was a member of the University and Symphonic Bands.  Beth was a founding member of the Blackwood Trio and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2008 as a member of the National Collegiate Wind Ensemble.  Beth's primary instrument in college was the clarinet, but she enjoys playing and teaching flute and beginner saxophone as well Beth enjoys teaching music to students of all ages.

Beth lives in New Bern with her husband, Joseph (who is currently the Assistant Band Director at West Craven Middle and High School) and their son.
